Colorado Equine Specialists are all equine professionals certified in the Eagala model. We provide professional, educated, and ethical equine specialists in the equine-assisted therapy field. Being held to such a high standard sets the bar for mental health professionals, knowing their practice and their clients are receiving the best services possible.
The Eagala model provides a standard and structure for providing Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Equine Assisted Learning sessions. Practicing within a model establishes a foundation of key values and beliefs, and provides a basis of good practice and professionalism. The Eagala model provides a framework of practice, but within that framework, there are infinite opportunities for creativity and adaptability to various therapeutic and facilitating styles.
8thMountain Ranch is a sanctuary of peace where wounded horses and hurting people experience true & lasting transformation. Through a unique catalyst of equine partnership, the ranch provides healing and redemption to the wounded hearts of this generation with the unique opportunity to walk out of trauma and pain while restoring hope for their future. We are a faith-based organization that utilizes Equine Assisted Learning, an OK Corral certified technique, to facilitate each session with excellence and effectiveness. 8thMountain Ranch differs from many other equestrian organizations because most of our herd has been rescued from abuse or neglect. These extraordinary horses have their own stories of triumph and hope. They are paired with one leader and one session participant for a 90-minute session, opening the door for hope and lasting positive change. We serve youth starting at age 6 all the way up to young adults and offer family group sessions as well.
